We’re proud to have been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a bronze Bicycle Family Business! Today, Upland joins a group of over 1,300 local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that are transforming the American workplace.

“Business owners and employers across the country are looking for simple, straightforward ways to build their companies, do right by their workers and customers, and contribute positively to their local communities,” says Executive Director Bill Nesper of the League of American Bicyclists. “Boosting participation in bicycling achieves all of that and more, and BFBs such as Upland are wonderful models of that success.”

Upland head of Sales & Marketing David Bower was thrilled that we’d be joining this prestigious group. “Cycling has been embedded in Upland’s culture since the beginning, it’s an excellent way for us to connect with the community no matter the location,” Bower said. “To be formally recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Business is the cherry on top.”

BFB requirements identify incentives, programming, and amenities proven to enable and inspire more people to ride bikes. In addition to offering secure bicycling parking for both employees and customers, we’ve had an Upland cycling team for ten years now. Upland FSQ brewery opening June 2019 will feature an on-site Bicycle Shop thanks to a partnership with Gray Goat Bicycle Company. The Gray Goat Bike Hub will offer a full-service repair shop, parts & accessories, and new & used bicycles for sale.

For the month of December, we’ve partnered with Nine13 Sports. Their program ‘Kids Riding Bikes’ uses cycling to teach central Indiana youth about fitness, healthy living, teamwork, and other vital life skills. Every Monday for the rest of the month, we’re donating a portion of the proceeds from every pint sold to Nine13 so they can continue their excellent work in the community.

Stay tuned for the return of Petal to the Kettle on tap January 15th.
