We began brewing wood-aged sour beers March of 2006. We started by trading eight cases of Upland beer for four 265L white oak barrels from Oliver Winery. Due to overwhelming and humbling response we received about these bottles, we realized that using a lottery system was the only fair way for sour lovers to get their hands on them. Since then we’ve grown the program every year and these sour ales are sold via a lottery system about four times a year.
How it works: To sign up visit uplandsours.eventbrite.com during the public lottery and enter the lottery. Entering the lottery is free and winners are chosen at random via a number generator. Each release, the lottery will remain open for 1 week. Please do not enter more than once, as your entries will be canceled. Bottle amounts will be specified for each style. Please specify at the time of entry your preferred pick up location: the Bloomington Brewpub or the Indianapolis Tasting Room. CONFIRMATION AND E-TICKETS FROM EVENTBRITE DO NOT CONFIRM YOU HAVE WON THE LOTTERY. Lottery winners will be notified via email. The email will also inform you which bottles you have won.
Pick Ups: Bottles may be picked up during the specified pickup period at the Bloomington Brewpub 11am-Midnight, Monday-Thursday, 11am-1am Friday and Saturday, and 12pm-Midnight Sunday or at the Indianapolis Tasting Room 4pm-10pm Monday-Thursday and 12pm-Midnight Friday and Saturday. Please note the Indianapolis Tasting Room cannot sell carryout on Sunday, in accordance with Indiana State Law. Each purchaser must present a government issued ID
Pick up by proxy: We realize that some of our sour fans do not live around the corner and for that reason we do allow for proxies to pick up bottles. The proxy must be 21+ and bring their own government issued ID and the original or photocopied ID of the winner (an image of the photo ID on your smart phone will also be accepted). The name on the ID must match the name in our records.
Each bottle will cost $25 plus applicable sales tax.
